Eastern Choral Ensembles (Series)

The Eastern Illinois University Choral Ensembles comprise of several groups conducted by Richard Robert Rossi and Timothy Renner.

Under the direction of Richard Rossi, the Concert Choir is an auditioned, select choir consisting of 35-45 voices that performs a wide variety of short and medium-length choral compositions by significant composers from early classics to notable contemporary works. The repertoire encompasses a unique variety of primarily a cappella music and/or music accompanied by light instrumentation.

The University Mixed Chorus, under the direction of Timothy Renner, is an ensemble of mixed voices that studies and performs a variety of choral literature from early Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque classics to notable contemporary works and large Oratorio works accompanied by the Eastern Symphony Orchestra and/or the Eastern Symphony Chamber Orchestra. Open to all university students interested in singing. Music majors and minors may count up to six semester hours toward graduation. Non-music may count four semester hours toward graduation.

The program video series is a co-production of the Department of Music, Tempestas et Caelum Productions, the Center for Academic Technology Support, and the Department of Geology/Geography at Eastern Illinois University.

Eastern Symphony Orchestra (Series)

The Eastern Symphony Orchestra (ESO), the Eastern Symphony Chamber Orchestra (ESCO) & Collegium Musicum are open to all undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, faculty and staff. The Eastern Symphony Orchestra, and the Eastern Symphony Chamber Orchestra have quickly become premiere regional orchestras in the state of Illinois.
